In a study published in the journal Contact Lens & Anterior Eye, 456 computer users who complained of dry eyes and who used a computer for more than three hours a day for at least one year were studied. If I take flaxseed oil do I still need to supplement with omega-3 fish oil?
Flax seed oil has some benefits, but it is important to recognize that it does not contain EPA or DHA.  It only contains a plant-derived omega-3 oil called alpha-linoleic acid (ALA). While your body can synthesize EPA and DHA from ALA, it does so at a very low conversion rate.  In fact, ALA only converts to EPA at a rate of between 5 and 10%, and DHA at a rate of 2 to 5%. To make matters worse, it is far harder for men to make the conversion from ALA to EPA. Women convert ALA to EPA 2.5 times better than men.
Why does some fish oil cause “fishy burps?” And what can be done about it?
Regardless of preparation, fish is fish… and can reoccur on you to varying degrees. Our fish is super fresh, which greatly eliminates the likelihood of “fishy burps.” Additionally, the triglyceride form, like that found in Origin Omega is far less likely to cause burps than the ethyl ester form, which is more likely to be oxidized and rancid.  Should you experience any fish burps, one great tip is to keep the gelcaps in the freezer.  When taken frozen they rarely have this effect.
I regularly eat fish. Do I need to supplement with omega-3?
That depends. Not all fish are high in EPA and DHA. For example, while wild caught salmon is especially high in EPA/DHA, farm raised salmon has minimal amounts. Fish DO NOT physiologically produce EPA and DHA. Farm raised fish are NOT fed algae, which is the natural source of EPA and DHA, but instead, are raised on a diet high in GMO grains. To be sure you are getting enough EPA and DHA we recommend supplementation to counteract the high levels of inflammatory omega-6 in most diets.
